Mike Spack notes that No.3 Manning Depot in Edmonton was " the site of Clark Field where later the Edmonton Eskimo professional football team would play and indeed did play prior to the war.   All dressed the same, look alike, mannequins, subject to a definite set of rules, each ranked as Aircraft man 2nd Class (AC2) with many superiors ranking higher and a few with very sharp tongues."
